City of Conroe Trail Day

Bayou Land Conservancy’s City of Conroe Trail Day, held on Saturday, November 10th was a huge success, as we cut trail on our newest preserve in the City of Conroe with the Woods Project and Green Bank. The 25.62-acre City of Conroe Preserve is our 42nd Conservation Easement, and protects a number of massive American sycamore trees.
Canoes, The Creek, and the Commissioner
Attention Members: Join Bayou Land Conservancy and Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle on October 20 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM for a sunset paddle along one of the most scenic stretches of Spring Creek. This event is open to all members. If you don’t have your own, kayaks and canoes will be provided by REI and Harris County for the first 50 members to RSVP.
Bayou Land Conservancy’s a Watershed Event Gala was a huge success! A packed room of more than 230 attendees were present when Bayou Land Conservancy announced the acquisition of a new 100-acre piece of land near Cypress. Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Jack Cagle delivered an impassioned speech about the past, present, and future of the Spring Creek Greenway, and we honored a many individuals important to the mission of the organization, including teachers Amber Schumacher, Dr. Laura Sigworth, Elizabeth Achar, Traci Styers, and Melissa Boddie; environmental reporter Matt Tresaugue; Texas State Senator Tommy Williams and Texas State Representative Dan Huberty; and quality of life businessman Mike Garver. A delicious meal made from all local ingredients was served and unique giveaways were donated.
