Bayou Land Conservancy BioBlitz for Beginners

BLC Biologist Identifies Plants

Thanks to all who joined us on April 21 at 9:00 a.m. as we scoured our Spring Trails Preserve to find and document as many species of plant and animal species we could in one morning! The photo above, from the event, shows a Bayou Land Conservancy plant expert teaching participants about local plant species.

New Year Tree Planting!

15th Annual Gala

Our Gala held on Thursday, April 28th at

Northwest Forest Conference Center was a huge success.

Without the kind contributions of the following people and businesses, this event would not have been such a success.

  • Guests enjoyed a beautiful meal prepared by Chef James Nakayama featuring food from the following local farms: Cheesey Girl in Sealy, Atkinson Farms in Spring, and Kalbow Farms in Cypress.

 

  • REI donated a tent, camping chairs, and camping accessories valued at $400
  • The Progressive Forum of Houston four tickets to hear and meet author Michael Pollan
  • Northwest Forest Conference Center provided a getaway for two to their facility including strawberries and champagne
  • Whole Earth Provision Co. provided a $10 Gift Certificate to every attendee of the event
  • Plants for All Seasons Nursery provided lovely native plants to decorate tables that guests were able to take home.
